not sure as i just tested (complete reinstall 9.04 then installing KDE 3.5 got the same notification about the same 2 upgrade files and same result hard lockup. 

interesting that there not KDE packages as those 2 files only show after KDE is installed 

prob something easy to fix, just not to sure where exactly to look
