Thanks. What I meant to ask is what needs to be fixed up? Why does it
not work well as a panel applet?

I actually could not find the Run Command plasmoid (yes, that's what
they are called now) for KDE 4. Maybe Kubuntu does not package it, I
will see from where else I could get it.
