That is what Ubuntu is unwilling to do.  They do not want anything to do
with KDE3 at this point.

Who?  And what its their specific complaint?  If something was broken then
it was most likely accidental and it needs to be fixed. ;-)  I will say
that I have had no other complaints about Konqueror, so it is quite
possible that a specific feature used by that individual was overlooked
somehow.
