After starting Kubuntu the display flickers while krandrtray starts, I 
can then kill it by right clicking and selecting quit.

How do I stop krandrtray from starting?

I'm using a desktop system with an ATI card which is fairly stable. I 
don't need the options available in the task-bar as they can be changed 
via the ATI control centre.
