Oh, I didn't know that your kwallet works with other programs. Than it wouldn't make
much sense to rename ~/.kde3, since your KDE configuration seems to be OK. What happens
if you open kwallet and navigate to Kopete->Passwords->{some account}. Can you unhide
the content of the nodes (see the passwords)? If you know all kopete passwords, you
can also remove the "Kopete" node in kwallet and try to enter the passwords again via
kopete.
